Pricing

Free for small companies. One license per company after that.

Every feature, every language and every engine in every tier. Small companies use Kwker free. Larger ones pay one yearly license, priced by revenue, not by servers, cores or developers.

Which license applies to you

Small companies: PolyForm Small Business, free

If your organization has fewer than 100 people (employees and contractors) and less than USD 1,000,000 in 2019 dollars, adjusted for inflation, of revenue in the prior tax year, you use Kwker under the standard PolyForm Small Business License 1.0.0. It is free, for any purpose, including production and your own commercial products.

Everyone else: the Kwker Commercial License

Any other organization that runs Kwker needs a Kwker Commercial License: one yearly license for the whole organization and its affiliates, any number of developers, servers and cores, including hosted services.

Vendors: the Kwker OEM License

If you ship Kwker inside your own software, SDK, library, appliance or hardware package, a Kwker OEM License covers you and lets your customers run Kwker as part of your product, whatever their size. It is negotiated per product; it puts no conditions on your own code. Write to mail@kwker.io.

Questions

Is Kwker open source?

No. Kwker is source-available: you can read and build all of it, and small companies use it free, but larger organizations pay for a license.

Is anything held back in the free tier?

No. Every tier has the same library: all operations, all languages, all engines and the PyTorch backend.

Our open-source project depends on Kwker. What do our users need?

Kwker keeps its own license inside your project; your project's license grants no rights to Kwker. Each user who runs the Kwker-backed features needs their own right to run it: PolyForm Small Business if they qualify, otherwise a Commercial License. Users who never run those features need nothing.

We only clone, read or build code that includes Kwker.

That needs no license purchase. Anyone may get, read, build and pass on unmodified copies of Kwker without running it. Running it, including in tests and CI, is use.

Can we try Kwker before buying?

Yes. An organization that does not qualify for the free license may evaluate Kwker for 30 days, outside production.

We received Kwker inside another company's product.

The product's OEM license, shipped with it, lets you run Kwker as part of that product. Using Kwker on its own needs one of the other licenses.

Do I need a license key?

No. Kwker has no license keys, no activation, no telemetry and makes no network calls. Licensing is an agreement, not a check in the code.

What do I get when I buy a license?

A license file that names your company, its revenue band and the dates it is valid, signed by Kwker. You download it from your account, and anyone can check that it is genuine with gpg.

What happens when we grow?

The free license checks your size whenever you use Kwker: once you have 100 people or pass the revenue limit, you need a Commercial License. A Commercial License keeps its band until renewal, then renews at the band that matches.

Which version of Kwker do these prices apply to?

The 0.1 release and its patch releases. See the compatibility promise for what stays stable between releases.

How do I ask about a license?

Email mail@kwker.io with your organization's name and how you use Kwker, or use the support form.
